Nell's first photo shoot

The Glab girls surprised their parents for their 20 annivaersary by having pictures taken of all 4 girls and their new pupppy, Amy. They asked me to take them, but I handed the camera over to Janelle and let her take 90% of them. We had such fun sneaking around behind Don and Kim's back to get these done. I spent much of the time laughing. When we tried to get the head shot of the girls on the ground, Kimberly had me laughing so hard I could barely breathe! Here are just a few of the many shots we took. These are all Janelle's photos.

Nice work, Janelle!
Happy Anniversary, Don and Kim. You are a blessed family!

Memorizing scripture

But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.

10 courts - 20 teams - all at once

We spent the beautiful weekend inside this building watching Janelle's basketball tournament. There are 10 courts being played on at the same time all day Saturday and Sunday. You can't imagine the noise. Two refs per court blowing whistles constantly. It was deafening, but worth it to see her play. Her team won 3 out 4 games. Go Flames!

Cherry Blossom Princess

Last night we attended (this is a mouthful) the National Conference of State Societies 2007 Cherry Blossom Princesses Congressional Reception on Capitol Hill. Did you know that Kim D. is the Maryland Cherry Blossom Princess? And did you further realize she is studying Japanese in college? Typically the princesses are escorted into the reception by their state Senator, but Christoph was asked to do the honors for Kim. What a privilege.

All princesses from each state as well as the U.S. territories were in attendance as well as the Japanese Ambassador and other dignitaries. Here is Senator Daniel K. Inouye of Hawaii.
(I think Kim was the prettiest one there....)

Congratulations, Kim!
